When we build a home, there are two meaning of safe.
One is the safe for the resident’s health, and the other one is functional safe against earthquake, barrier free or crime.

Most of home builder works to safety on function side, however current state of safety on a healthy side is still poor in Japan, even the home builder that emphasizes they build a healthy home; for example they are using low formaldehyde vinyl chloride for the interior material, the plywood floor, the vinyl wall paper, and tatami mat covered by rush made in China where doesn’t have the pesticide regulation yet.

We build a home using natural material, but it may not be enough to straighten out the problem of allergy. So we are aiming to produce a safe environment that the allergic sensitivity doesn't occur on the all of food, clothing and living, and we think cooperation with the medical institution including the mental care is important. Don’t you relieve your home cause of using construction materials of **** (four stars) which is recommended as healthy building materials by Japanese construction law?
However, only formaldehyde and chlorpyrifos are restricted by law as the restriction of the chemical in the room. The chemicals use for building exceeds 3,000 kinds, it means other chemicals can use without any restriction in Japan.

Because of the flow of fresh air is intercepted in high airtight home, the residents receive the influence of these chemicals. Therefore, we use cellulose or natural wool as the heat insulator, and finish up the interior wall and ceiling by drywall; may keep the high insulation and control the humidity in the home. Instead of the general method which mix the adhesive that contains hazardous chemicals with cellulose and spray it on the wall, we use our own method that put nonwoven sheet on the face of wall, then blows dry cellulose inside as insulation. There is obligation of air circulation device installation in Japan. It　reduces the air sealing performance of airtight home and energy is wasted, too. We feel doubt to necessity of such a law.

Actually provide crime prevention is sometimes useless worry; not sure the thieves aim the home or no, however, better to build a home they can’t aim. But it is important to make a home not to motivate them.

The most danger place the thieves aim is the big sliding patio door.
However, imported patio door uses double pane or tripple pane tempered glass; therefore it doesn't crack even if it beats with the baseball bat. Moreover, the glass has a microscopically-thin coating of metal oxide called Low-E, the additional benefit of the window is to protect from ultraviolet rays and improve insulating effect.

Originally the wood construction of platform framing has been imported from North America. At the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake in 1995 there was no damage in the platform framing homes; the news was taken up on a large scale in the mass communication. The platform framing is made by wood, but the structure is boasting high earthquake resistance.

To strength the performance of earthquake resistance, we use 5/8” (other companies 1/2”) in thickness plywood as subfloor and 1/2” (other companies 3/8” usually) in thickness plywood for the exterior wall.（Earthquake resistance (Japanese)【PDF】）

Other home builder proposes the use of hard lumber like Douglas Fir (Called American pine tree in Japan, but Douglas fir is the genus of Pseudotsuga). But, we use Spruce, Pine, or Fur (Genus: Picea, Pinus, Abies) for the framing because they have flexibility.
We think frame of the house requires the flexibility more than hardness such as crack by nails.
